It's been a while tell me about it! Blogging weekly has proven to be quite the challenge for me, waaay too much pressure! However, here's an update!
I've been working with DPVN (D’EE’P Vision Network), an independent network that distributes content created and produced by people of color. I'm excited to say that I am now a part of this awesome brand and now have my very own studio within their I.C.U. Studios, which stands for Independent, Comprehensive, and Unique content. I.C.U. Studios distribute comprehensive shorts, documentaries, and full length movies that are intellectually owned by people of color or created for our audience and the people of color communities that are viewing from 84 countries. This is super dope because now my content is international! My studio went live last weekend and has been the #1 page on DPVN for the last two weeks. I am happy to say that I will be providing 13 pieces of new content to the network starting later this month, over the next 13 months. Definitely check out the network, as they have a bunch of cool content going on.
I was hired as Creative Director for a one woman ten minute play that will be shown as part of a competition at Manhattan Repertory Theatre on February 17th and 19th at 9pm. You can reserve tickets via their website. The play, Just Time, written by Shaundra Patterson in which she portrays Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, and Cicely Tyson. If you are in NYC and aren't busy, come through and see a few shows =)
I released the latest ep in my Creative Therapy series today. This time with a new client named Tyrone Watkins. I never know what to expect in these sessions, but they always help me to understand people just a little better day by day.
I have a few projects coming on down the pipeline and will be shooting my next film this weekend - so be on the lookout for that for next month. I'll be doing my very first live stream on set this Saturday on Periscope. So if you're on Periscope, be sure to let me know.
Other than that, I've been concentrating on my work and staying disciplined in creating new content and projects while continuing to work with supremely talented individuals. Don't worry, you'll see their faces soon.
